Jaclyn Rose Freshman, currently a fourth grader at Newton's Memorial-Spaulding
School, began playing the violin at the age of five with Susan Goldstein.
She entered the New England Conservatory of Music at the age of six where
she began to study with Melba Sandberg.
While studying at the New England
Conservatory, Jaclyn was a member of the Preparatory String Orchestra
(Bonnie Black, conductor) and participated in a chamber music string
ensemble under the direction of Ms. Sandberg. She also is taking courses
in Music Theory at the Conservatory. She has been a member of the Memorial-Spaulding
orchestra since kindergarten as well.
In addition to playing the violin, Jaclyn also studies piano under the
instruction of Miko Matsusaka. She is also an avid soccer player participating
in the Newton Girls Soccer's School of Excellence program and its Boston
Area Youth Soccer (BAYS) Travel team. |
