![]() Well known to Boston audiences, Mr Nemeskal has performed extensively in both opera and concert. The Boston Globe declared his performance as Canio in Leoncavallo's I Pagliacci with Chorus pro Musica to be "smoldering and boldly sung." With the Boston Academy of Music, Mr Nemeskal has sung a wide variety of roles, including DeBracy in Sir Arthur Sullivan's Ivanhoe, Menelaus in Offenbach's La Belle Helene, Sir Hervey in Donizetti's Anna Bolena, Trabucco in Verdi's La Forza del Destino, Count Elmer in Richard Strauss' Arabella, Luigi in Puccini's Il Tabarro, and Edwin in Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury. Much in demand as tenor soloist, Mr Nemeskal has sung with the Masterworks Chorale, the Harvard-Radcliffe Choral Society, the Back Bay Chorale, the Nashua Symphony, the Brockton Symphony, the Cape Ann Symphony and the Paul Madore Chorale in such works as the Verdi Requiem, Handel's Messiah, the Bach B Minor Mass and St Matthew Passion, Rossini's Petit Messe Solenelle and Beethoven's Mass in C and Ninth Symphony. Reviewing his performance in Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah, the Providence Journal hailed Mr Nemeskal as "the tenor who could do no wrong." Mr Nemeskal has also performed with the Miami (Florida) Bach Society and the Choral Arts Society of Portland, Maine. Last season he sang Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde with the Flint (Michigan) Symphony Orchestra. Upcoming performances this season include Janacek's Otcenas (Our Father) with the Providence Singers, and Nick the Bartender in Puccini's La Fanciulla del West with the Boston Academy of Music. |
