ANTIQUES APPRAISAL DAY |
Saturday, November 4, 2000 ** 10am - 4pm ** Brown Middle School
That landscape in the attic, your grandma's brooch, or the porcelain vase you picked up last summer -- find out what it's worth at the Antiques Appraisal Day on Saturday, November 4 at the Brown Middle School Cafeteria (125 Meadowbrook Road) and help support the Newton Symphony Orchestra. The $10 per person entrance fee will permit up to three appraisals in any category. All proceeds from this event go to support the concerts and educational activities of the NSO. Among the expert appraisers participating in the Newton Symphony's Antiques Appraisal Day are Helen Kelly (Boston Book Company), Sonia Paine (Sonia Paine Antiques, Chestnut Hill), Bruce Bower and Robert McMillan (Accent Appraisers and Auctioneers, Weston), Jeffrey Franc (Jeffrey Franc, Inc., Wellesley), and Eric Mulak (Eldred Auctioneers, East Dennis). Lawrence Kearney of Lawrence Kearney Antique Carpets in Newton will join the group from 2 - 4pm. Objects from all collecting areas -- including antique jewelry, furniture, carpets, coins and stamps, clocks, books, pottery, glass, porcelain, silver, toys, and paintings -- will be welcome. A verbal appraisal will be given. For large or fragile objects, appraisal seekers are asked to substitute a good photograph of the item. For service of china or silver, bring one example of each piece in a set and a list of the total number of pieces. This event is wheelchair accessible. Return to Schedule |
